Overview of seed plants with genomes sequenced and published
The two major groups of seed plants are gymnosperms (classified into 8 taxonomic orders and 13 families) and angiosperms (64 taxonomic orders and over 400 families).
The light brown bars in the diagram display the total number of species for each family. The brown bars show the number of sequenced plant species, mouse-overs their genera. All bars use a logarithmic scale.
A yellow dot next to the plant family name indicates one or more plant species that have been published recently (within the last 3 months). A mouse-over displays the scientific name and provides a link to the corresponding publication.
